Lake Taupō, North Island, New Zealand

Lake Taupō sits right in the heart of New Zealand’s North Island, making it the perfect place to break up your journey. Whether you’re heading north or south, Taupō is an ideal stop to relax, reset, and soak in some of the country’s most stunning natural scenery.

At 46 km long, 33 km wide, and 186 metres deep, Lake Taupō is the largest lake in New Zealand—roughly the same size as the country of Singapore.
